Strawberry Resorvior

We went up to Strawberry reservoir for the morning to fish. The temperatures in Salt Lake were already in the 60's and low 70's. So we had been enjoying Spring. We got up to the reservoir around 7:00 am and it was like 38 degrees! FREEZING! But we all survived and had a great time. Abigail caught the first fish and the biggest fish ( I didn't get a picture of that one but she had a hard time reeling it in)of the day and was very proud of herself. Then dad and Abigail caught a few craw dads and we had a great time laughing about this. We caught four fish total and went home and had some fresh fish for dinner.

 Oh it is so cold!

Fun times

Tonight we played Old Maid and Go Fish. I have to say that I had the greatest time watching Abigail learn some card games. She loves to play games and we play them often. Her favorite games right now are Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, Curious George discovery beach, and Wheels on the Bus.

When playing Old maid she would tell us what card to pick and would scream "Dad has the Old Maid". She was giggling the whole time. Her giggle makes me so happy.

Some of the things this girl has told me this week

*Mom I am 5 now, I get to do what I want
*I will love you forever, even when I am 32 and 16
*When I grow up and have babies I will still live with you, I will never move out
*When I grow up I am going to be a dentist, then the next year a Veterinarian, and then the next year a paleontologist, then I will chose which one forever
*I love you so much mom my head hurts

She has set up a trap in the back yard to catch whatever may step into it.
She has picked me her favorite flower every day this week. A dandelion. I always have dried dandelions in my car, pockets and purse.

This was so sweet and it broke my heart but I have to remember
She said "Mom you can't have anymore babies right"? I said yes honey I can not have any more babies. She then said "That makes me so sad because I want a brother or sister really bad" As I held back my tears she leaned over and hugged me and said "mom I love you, I am sorry your liver is sick, it's Okay I guess" She is 5! She is amazing!

She got her first BIG hair cut. 6 inches off!
She has started sleeping with a night mask on!

Here are a few pictures of her over the past week.

Spring

SpRiNg

Daffodils are my favorite spring flower. This winter has been way to cold and way to long.

I have missed green grass, the smell of the flowers blooming, the sun shining, and spending time outdoors. To wake up and smell the rain is just wonderful. Don got our garden fence finished. We are happy about this because we got to plant our seeds. Our bunny has enjoyed making his home in the garden and eating everything. We bought him a small chicken coop for a home but unfortunately he is still too big for it! He has eaten the bark off our trees, my lilac, all my plants. We bought a few strawberry plants and the next morning they were gone. Now to get his run set up around his cage so he can be penned and we can enjoy our plants! He is not to happy about the fence. Here he is enjoying a sunny day napping with our kitty Morris...in the garden!

I got to mow our lawn, weed my gardens, and put our my summer furniture and decorations.
We planted our peas, carrots, cilantro, radishes, and onions. Don is planting our potatoes Tuesday. Then we will move onto the squash and tomatoes. I love gardening!

Sunday Abigail and I went to Wheeler Farm and got to see a few baby sheep, goats, and cows.

Abigail got to meet a horse that she thought was hilarious! He was making faces at her and then he wiped his nose on her jacket and she was in hysterics!

Here she is showing me what the horses face looked like!

Wheeler Farm put in a giant play ground and Abigail and I enjoyed going down the slide together until Ruger made it impossible for me to play!

See you next time

And then it decided to get cold and snow....
